About Me
Hi, I'm Anna!
I'm a speech and language therapist working for the NHS in London, with the wonderful Get Hackney Talking team, and a lecturer on the MSc Speech and Language Sciences course at UCL. I am also co-author of the award-winning book and intervention programme DLD And Me, which helps children and young people learn about a diagnosis of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).

In my clinical role, I specialise in working with young people with DLD and speech sound disorder. Like the rest of the public sector, speech and language therapists (SLTs) are continually faced with the challenge of how to support as many children as we can with limited resources. Children with DLD (which has an estimated prevalence of 7%) far outnumber SLTs, so it's essential we work in collaboration with families and colleagues in education and health to help them achieve their potential. Inspired to find out how colleagues in Australia manage this, I successfully applied for a Churchill Fellowship in 2020. Now, I am travelling (with a two year old in tow!) to the other side of the world to learn all about DLD Down Under.
